    I think it's only "ugly" because it looks so futuristic. The pic you posted looks like a car. I don't think the Apple Car will have all these conventional car features.

    I predict non visible lights until turned on, So the frame is smooth over these parts.

    Digital license plate(duh)

    No grill.

    No muffler of course.

    Possibly "blank" rims.

    We need to rethink the car with Apple.

    Just a few minutes ago I was thinking Apple may have an Apple Car Sport version, like a sports car with removable top and an Apple Car Edition which is more luxurious.

    I've actually worked out how this would work YEARS ago.
    The pedal wouldn't be anchored at the bottom like most cars but actually attached in the middle.  Something like this /•

    1. Lay foot on pedal.

    2. Push forward for gas.

    3. Push heel for brake.

    Would actually feel smooth and natural.

    YES I know it's a joke and regulations probably won't let it happen unfortunately.

    In tribute to Magic Mouse, I'm hoping for the Magic Pedal that lets me swipe my foot from left to right for parellel (or 90-degree slide into place) parking. We can dream, right?

    No pedal, no steering wheel. The car will drive itself, giving us free time on our hands.

    I think it was a dig as well. No way Apple would release such a horrible design.  Safety regulations do have a major say in vehicle design, but Apple has a long history of elegant, functional design. And people who want to pick that hockey puck mouse as an example to the contrary should just stop.  Apple's design sets trends in every industry the play in, and I believe the automotive industry would be no different should they actually come out with an Apple car.

    My Kubota tractor has a pedal arrangement like /• Pressing top for forward, and bottom for reverse - could be interesting used in a car :~}
