Remember the new layout that Jonathan posted a few weeks ago?

Now it's totally silent. What's up?

Isn't because of my frequent "It sucks" comments?

To be able to import all the old data from UBB into vB, Brad The Impaler requires SSH access to the server.

The head honchos at MacNN, where AppleInsider is currently hosted, haven't provided the necessary access yet, probably because everything will be moved lock, stock and barrel over to, ahem, Slaptech's server once the domains are resolved.

Yes, I've been ready for weeks to transition over to vB. The only problem, as Belle pointed out, is that the server admins won't give us proper access to make the switch.

gorgonzola of MacNN *was* our only contact for getting info on the server. Now that we have new owners (SlapTech), we really don't know what to do. gorgonzola is stubborn and probably won't give us access sinee we'll probably be switching servers soon anyway. Yet, we've heard nothing from our new owners as to when/if we will be put on a new server.

    So, we play the waiting game. AGAIN. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

On vBulletin, yes, an administrator can fake or "reset" post counts. However, whenever you update the database counters in the control panel, these bad values are set to the correct ones.

I don't know if that's possible in UBB.

    Regardless, it's not exactly like I'm proud of having a high post count. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Yeah it's possible to "fake" the post counts. None of you might remember, but a long time ago Jonathan decreased my post count by I think 1000 for a little while. So it can be done
