You could get some TiPaint to paint over the ink, I think.

I think that the Ti Paint quality is a little above that of spilled ink.

You should take your Ti into a place that does custom artwork - you know, surfboards, etc. Have someone paint a dark square there and paint a kick-ass design in it.

I know a guy here that does awesome work on drivers (that's a golf club to those geeks here who don't leave the house) - I've wondered what it would look like on a PowerBook...

What the hell, you've already totally ruined your PowerBook - GO FOR IT.

I think he was referring to people getting taken by that company.

Try acetone. That will solve your problem. . . and as far as I know it's not going to react with anything on your book, but you may want to look into it.

I know that in the machine shop we use acetone to clean off permanent ink from aluminum and steel surfaces. (Ink used for indicator lines, drill holes, etc.)

Oh, whoops. Hadn't heard of that... (it WAS a joke though)

I'd love to see someone get a nice custom paint job on their Ti Book. Come on man, go for it.

Or you could order a replacement part for it. I'd be surprised if that part was over $80, even with inflated parts prices.

If you want to go that route, I can install it for you. I'm a certified technician, or so says this little sheet of paper...

the upper casing rightnext to the trackpad is only $80?

hmmm maybe i should leave it and then get the parts now and replace it when i want to sell it

jeez, I don't recall the wallstreet parts for that area of the machine being so much. That was the last time I was working as a tech though <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Dude: Acetone.

I think nail polish remover contains some amount of the stuff. TRY IT. It's cheap.
