I've had 2 viruses in OS9. I got both from my school. School computers are breeding grounds for viruses. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

There are no known virii for OS X yet. That doesn't mean some jerk won't write one. Fact is, even having a virus scanner won't protect you if you're one of the first people to get infected by a new virus. But, once it's known, an update is usually available in a few days or so.
The best solution is Apples .Mac service. You get 100 MB of web space, 15 MB email storage, Backup software and Virex anti-virus. Whereas with Norton Antivirus (about $79) you only get the anti-virus software, and still have to make yearly renewals for your virus protection updates anyway. Norton Systemworks is a better package, but is about $129.
I'm personally quite happy with .Mac, and the Backup software alone is worth it, especially in addition to the Internet services and anti-virus.
