You mean a dedicated multiquote button? I could get behind that.

No, I meant a quote button in the editing menu for putting pasted text into quotes, rather than for quoting a post.  Scratch that - there appears to be one after all, hiding in the paragraph icon menu.  Silly me.

I agree. Only being able to reply to one post at a time is annoying.

Hitting the quote button on each post will append it in the editor. It scrolls down each time though and it won't save between pages automatically since they turned auto drafts saving off, you'd have to click save draft before jumping to a new page. Sometimes it's hard to type between or after quotes, to get round this, you can click the HTML view button in the editor, then just insert a character and switch back.

You can do it in order so say you wanted to reply to someone on the previous page, you could click quote on their post and type the reply leaving the cursor at the bottom. Then hit save draft and jump to the next page, find another comment, hit quote and type the reply to that.

I appreciate the workaround but the point is that before we didn't have to engage in a workaround. We just hit multiquote and the work was done for us. For example today Apple lost their motion regarding the ebook trial but I didn't even reply because the number of responses were simply to large to address with such limited capabilities as the software now offers. I'm smart enough to skip the 40 troll-ish posts but the five or so substantive replies would have been nice to address in a manner as easy as we had before.

Any word on resetting our inboxes? Not that I (or, I figure, many others) get many PMs, but that I’ve had a LOT of PMs in the past means that all of them show up as permanently “unread”.

It’s not like an actual problem of usability or anything, so I’m sure it’s low priority.

I have always felt that Apple has a racist streak. It was more than clearly demonstrated in their ad at Rio. Does Apple Think Sadhus and hungry farmers are all that represents India? yes we have our problems. in 1820s we were the premier economy of the world (the position USA holds now). The Caucasians came and by murder, rape and genocide by 1947 we were NOTHING. Your pictures depict India that was looted and spit out by the Caucasians. BUT now we are far better. We have the fast breeder reactors that US cannot even imagine to equal in  technology. We did Mars and moon at almost no cost compared to what USA does. USA survives on our IT specialists. That, my dear friend at the top in Apple who thought Sadhu and starving farmer is India, is the present india of which you are a bit 'concerned".

With this sort of attitudes you may find your 1.25 Billion market recede and go to others. So be careful.

I am not good at writing. But here is a nice one Tru to read and internalise otherwise the apple may rot in India.

Same here. I've got 19 permanently unread mails. It's annoying, but not critical to the functioning of the site.

Has the ignore list gone? Please, no, the hundreds I had on my list I do not want back.

Ignore lists were added back in tonight. We have not yet gotten around to importing old ignore lists, and I honestly am not sure if we will. I suspect most people only have a handful or so of ignored users, so it won't be that big of an issue for most.

You can edit your ignore list here, or you can ignore any individual user from their profile page by clicking the little person icon in the top-right next to the message icon and selecting ignore. NOTE: this will hide their POSTS completely. It will not stop you from seeing that they have the most recent post in a thread or they were quoted or anything like that.
    LOVE the ignore list!

Is it possible to remove the "max 5" restrictions on the ignore list, please?! There have been so many trolls and MR-wannabes added recently, restricting the ignore list to 5 max is definitely reducing the fun of the forum.<sigh>
