Apple is set to reopen one outlet in Thousand Oaks, Calif. on Saturday, and will close another in Cambridge, Mass. just a day later to begin renovations.

The Oaks location has itself been under renovations since March. The shop is one of Apple's older ones -- dating back to 2005 -- and will presumably be updated to mimic the layout of other recent stores, with touches like wooden shelves and a massive video display. Since it's indoors though Apple won't be able to take advantage of natural lighting, as it has elsewhere, and it may want to avoid trees in the limited space it has to work with.

Apple CambridgeSide will close for an unspecified period of time, presumably several months like other recent renovation projects. In the meantime the company is redirecting shoppers to other Boston-area stores, namely Boylston Street and Chestnut Hill -- the latter a likely example of what both CambridgeSide and The Oaks will look like.

A number of Apple retail renovations are underway. While many of these are in the U.S., the company is for instance planning to reopen its Buchanan Street shop in Glasgow, Scotland this weekend.

I've noticed some people are pissed off with the compensation she got when she joined Apple. Never could understand that.
