There are about a dozen different apps that will put the screen saver on the desktop for you (on 10.2) -- once the CLI command was discovered, everyone and they brothers started making various front-ends to it.
The above is a well done effort, and performs excelently on my iBook700, even as my desktop. Besides, you're not going to be able to get the one from the Apple Store; it's a quicktime movie and not available to the public... but it must be stored locally...

yes it does run very nicely... only problem is the blue background.. i wish i could see my regular desktop picture behind the snowflakes instead of the plain jane blue

This one is close to the one shown in the Apple Store display windows and not jerky at all for me...

That is the one I am using and its jerky. I only have 128MB of memory though. Looks nice in the little preview window though.

the only machine with the snow movie running were 17" iMacs that were on pedastals at the front of the store, rotating around w/o keyboards or mice.
and i couldn't log into them.
not sure how you're supposed to get anything off those.
i checked all the other machines, no dice.

Is it on the LAN?
Here is another attempt, which I find a bit jerky and grainy.
