Dell 2000FP for $730 shipped

I know most people don't like these but they are extremely cheap at the Small Business until the 11th at midnight which is actually the 12th at midnight but Dell lists it this weird way. They are like $729.20 or something like that for the 20" LCD.



That is if you can find an extra 5% off coupon somewhere. They are floating around on other coupon sites.

    For a 20" display with only 1280x1024 resolution I will call this a piece of sh!t.

    I am not arguing with you about the quality but a lot of people can't afford the better ones and this is really a good deal for a 20" lcd.

    You may as well get a 17" LCD for cheaper. That's really what this 20" can be compared to more easily - basically an oversized 17" LCD. It must take up more desk space but it doesn't give you any extra screen area.

    IMO the optimal resolution on size is like this



    15" - 1024x768



    17" - 1152x870 or 1280x960



    19" - 1280x1024



    20" or above - 1600x1200

    But where does a 20" fit in there? It is at the point where it's hard to see. I prefer larger resolutions yes but the people buying their monitors from Dell are most likely ok with 1280x1024.

    20" should also be under the same 1600x1200 category.



    1280x1024 just doesn't cut it for a huge display at that size. Like one of the posters here mentioned it's just like a stuffed up 17" or 18" LCD. Much bigger physical size while providing no extra screen estate for palettes and tool bars.

    Naw, it's more than a fine deal. It's a good one. Let's call it as we see it.

    As much as I don't like Dell, they do manage to offer amazing prices.

    It's the same as the Apple 23" Cinema display.

    The 17" is 350:1 and the 22" is 300:1.

    Formac's 20.1" LCD has contrast ratio of 600:1 :eek:

    You know....such a big screen at 1280x1024....those text and picture wont' be sharp at all.



    When jpp1cd was talking about the Dell LCD I thought he was referring the old model and not the latest one

    wow....the same exact model from the Dell Canada site is $2200 CDN ($1400 US).....and NO free shipping



    Apple is treating Canadian like third-class citizen....Dell isn't any better
