The New MacBook Pro - Performance Differences!

I don't want to beat a dead horse...  but This is why I was SO happy to go USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 (Comparing USB Thumbdrive on a 2014 MBP to the 2016)

Hardware:
Mac 1) MacBook Pro 13" (Mid 2014 - MacBookPro11,1)
Mac 2) MacBook Pro 15" (Late 2016 - MacBookPro13,3)

Thumbdrive: Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 64GB

I will let the results speak for themselves... (yeah - write still sucks, but that is the way of all these devices)

it actually is.... and for whatever reason the USB Type-A side is not nearly as performant as the Type-C side. No idea where the blame resides (maybe I should buy a dongle?)... but the results are very obvious. Hopefully we will start seeing true Gen 2 thumb drives.... but I think this just underscores (and hence why I wanted to post) that the new MBPs are a jump forward unlike so much of what is being said.
