How do you say "Ti Book?"

OK, sounds silly, but yesterday Jobs was interviewed by some guy on CNN Headline News who referred to it as the "Tie Book" as in "Tie Fighter" Book. I always thought it was T-I, as in saying each letter individually, T-i-Book.

Well, of course it is "tie" book -- it comes from the first syllable of titanium.

Or do you pronounce that "T-I-T-A-N-I-U-M"?

I had a buddy ask me once if I liked Mick-ah-low-bee beer. I kid you not.

First time I had ever heard Michelob pronounced that way.

It's a common thing with the internet really, you read all these words month after month but never hear them spoken aloud. There are probably a bunch of these out there...

My reasoning was that when you look at "Ti" on the periodic chart you pronounce it "T-i," no? Just like gold would be pronounced "a-u" and not "aw" or Aluminum would be pronounced "A-l," not "Al" as in "Al Gore." I don't know, I haven't been in a chem class since the 10th grade so I could be wrong in my line of thinking.

ha ha, you walk up to someone and tell them you have a lapzilla and you're more likely to get smacked than if you said you had a TiBook, although for entirely different reasons.

i pronounce it tie-book. but it is interesting how things are pronounced. i used to spell out SCSI, and as i heard people call it 'skuzzy', i picked that up. i used to spell out 'ansi' (as in ANSI-C), but now i say "ansy". and, for the longest time, i called os10, 'oh-ehs-ecks'. and now 'ten' (like the number).

"tea eye" is how I read it. I just say powerbook when I talk about. T-I is the way you say the periodic table symbol and that's why I say it that way.
