What would be the mount point for an NFS share to make it accessible for all users? I had a look at man hier, but there is nothing relevant. Using Sierra.

Mounted it to /Users/Shared/server. My google-fu is failing on me, where can I find documentation for macOS filesystem hierarchy?

You can try mounting to /Volumes but it looks like they have locked this in Sierra:

There are suggestions there to use /tmp. Here's another page with some options to try:

Thanks!
/Volumes not user writable should not be a problem, I can create a subdirectory and make it writable ... will check it out when I get a chance.
Kerberized automount is interesting, too.
