Purported internal schematic of 'iPhone 8' shows 'A11' chip, removable SIM

Adding to the cacophony of recent "iPhone 8" rumors, a purported illustration of the layout of the interior of the high-end future iPhone has appeared on Chinese social media showing a conventional Touch ID location, and some other realignments needed for a vertical camera module position.

The "iPhone 8" internal circuit board layout diagrams appeared on Chinese social media venue Weibo late Sunday night. They show almost nothing specific about the phone inherent to a new model, with the exception of the change in position of some modules necessitated by a vertical, rather than horizontal camera module layout.

The processor is predictably labeled as the "A11" chip on diagrams of what appears to be a stacked motherboard. If the document is accurate, it also appears that the phone is sticking with a removable SIM, instead of migrating to the Apple SIM technology.

Not moved from its existing location is the Taptic Engine module. Beneath that are board spaces for 3D Touch, which if proportionately correct, are larger than circuitry in the iPhone 7 family of devices.

As with Sunday's alleged CNC model, there is no way to check the authenticity of the diagram. If fabricated, it and the CNC model are based on the diagram "leak" from April 17, and not the ones featuring a rear case penetration for Touch ID.

New technologies rumored to be included in the "iPhone 8" include an edge-to-edge OLED panel with a 5.1-inch user space, a larger battery, and a 3D facial scanner for use in augmented reality and biometric identification.

Some reports have pegged the starting price of the "iPhone 8" at more than $1,000.

It's amazing that the level of technological advancement in terms of surveillance seems to be inversely proportional to the quality of leaks about future hardware.  In English, that means the rumors suck now.  No excitement.

With graphics software tools, you can create believable fake/alternative image. Interestingly, what happened to finger print on back image/rumor.

You're forgetting the most important info on this leak: dual battery (yellow and orange blocks). That's why the internals are so different.

I can create that shit in 10 seconds myself with sketchbook let alone a cad program... These things are a joke.

At least put in the work to make these things credible

My pessimism is waving. The leaks are now turning into a faucet.

Its obvious that Apple's Senior Vice President of Propaganda leaked this.

This was in response to the crazy rumors of the fingerprint on the back of the phone. The VP of Propaganda does not want the Apple brand marred with 'copying' Android's stupid fingerprint on the back.

Thus these strategic leaks by Apple.

So who is the SVP of Propaganda for Apple? Its a secret and not disclosed officially.
Bullshit statement by yourself not backed by any fact.

There's no evidence of this and no reason that Apple would even need propaganda, especially in this case. Nobody believes the rumors about Touch ID on the back surface but idiots. It's all click bait. You took it.

You should be happy though because analyst are pushing up Apple's stock valuation. Tim Cook gets to stay on a bit longer.

Not sure I follow. This 'leak' doesn't confirm and refute a rear finger print sensor. If Apple did go this route, they may leak the info to temper expectations. If not, they have no reason to release evidence to the contrary, even though this doesn't do this.

Probably a feature far more valuable to many than an OLED screen or an A11.

In any event I don't buy the $1000 mark, that would be greed beyond anything Apple has attempted before.   The new tech doesn't necessarily make the phone more expensive. and even if it does for the device ramp up you are better off eating some of the margin in the beginning and then get it back as efficiency kicks in.   Frankly there comes a point in time where the price isn't justifiable and $1000 is way past that mark.

Until someone stands up on stage at an Apple event and shows the product, then I'm not wasting time concerning myself about it. Most of you should do the same. There are people out there whose lives are bent on misleading others either by ignorance or lies. Those outsiders can't be trusted to know anything about what goes on at Apple. Besides, it's just a smartphone and it isn't all that critical in the scheme of things. It's not a medical life-saving device or some cancer-curing drug. Whatever design Apple comes up with for the next iPhone it's still going to sell in many tens of millions of units because most loyal Apple consumers aren't that tech-anal.

I really doubt Apple has leaked any rumors yet. It's just too early. By next next week, this rumor will be forgotten on the pile of a hundred other rumors. Apple's leaks tend to pop up right before an event and are also contrary to the actual facts (i.e., Apple leaked a fake price point of $1000 just before announcing iPad for $499 - that was a strategic leak that made everyone sit up and pay attention during the event because it made Apple look like heroes for the consumer)

Looks like you haven't been reading Sog's posts for years and know that he is not joking. He's proposed fair less controversial rubbish as fact.

You’d think with the ever-increasing pervasiveness of surveillance systems worldwide that we’d be able to get some decent Apple leaks these days. There have to be some NSA drones (Hi, guys!) who love Apple products. And they obviously don’t care about the law or common decency, otherwise they wouldn’t be NSA drones. Throw us a bone, guys! Give us the goods!
