<a href="http://stimuli.ca/typical.jpg"; target="_blank">a screenshot</a> of me running Virtual PC after installing Windows 88 er, 98 on it.

Notice the OS (windows). Notice the browser. Notice the web site giving me scripting errors.

Well, it made me laugh.

BTW, pressing Shift-Cmd-3 will perform the screenshot function.

Whoa! What's going on here? I've never seen an alert like that before but that same message came up 3 times when I was in LA. I thought there was something wrong with my Grandpa's computer. As soon as I get back, my dad tells me about a new error massage and lo-and-behold. same thing. And now YOU! Is it just me or is there some kind of conspiracy going on. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

It happens everytime you install a 6 year old operating system and browser and visit any site with .net, modern java or even advanced vbscripting.

2 - 6 hours of patching and upgrades from windows update site takes care of it. Thats why you make a copy of your VPC disk image once you have it updated and all your critical apps installed. That way you just copy and rename your backup disk image to get a fresh new "ready-to-go" win98. Sh|t, I wish it was that easy with windows but you have to ghost and do a bunch of other crap.

The mac with vpc sure makes a nice web development platform since you can run all the OS and browser combinations you want on one computer. Makes testing a dream if you have to target a wide range of browsers because each renders slightly differently and the host OS also makes a big difference.

I just wish I had the horsepower to do that!
