Is my MBP hard drive dying? (Early 2011 model)

Specs:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) A1278 /
2,3 GHz Intel Core i5 /
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 /
Macintosh HD /
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

I'm interested in buying a used MBP (late 2013 model), A1502, 2,8 GHz, 512 MB SSD, 8 GB RAM – is this a good choice compared to other laptops on the used Apple market?

Thank you in advance! :)

Your battery needs replaced, this messes up dates and wifi settings. Apple has a service program to do this:

    https://support.apple.com/da-dk/mac-notebooks/repair/service
    https://support.apple.com/mac-notebooks/repair/service/pricing

That model isn't worth much now though:

They are selling around $350-450. Once you pay $129 plus tax for a replacement battery and sell it on, you'd be left with maybe $200 after selling fees etc.

Buying a 2013 model would be a good idea, the storage in that is over 25x faster than the old one and you get a Retina display. If you plan to keep it for a few years, remember the battery in it is already 4 years old and your current one failed after 6 years so you might have to service it in 2 years.

Once you get a new model, you can migrate your data over from the old one, wipe the old machine and sell it saying the battery needs replaced. Some service companies buy machines for parts so you can maybe get $200 or so for it and save the trouble of replacing the battery yourself.
