If I get the 15" Ti now and then in the beginning of April they come out with the 15" Aluminum Powerbook would i be able to trade my Ti in (assuming I'd want to) and get the NEW 15" Aluminum??

Here's my wish list:

15" Ti, 1GHz, 512MB (will upgrade to 1GB later), 60GB, Superdrive

Office X for Mac

Quicken 2003

and then later on:

Photoshop

Dreamweaver

Final Cut Pro Express

Sweet huh????

    If by trade you mean sell, and then buy again, sure. Apple would never let you trade a product like that. They will give you a difference of prices if the new model has changed prices, with a 10 day window between the release of a new product and the purchase of yours.

    Unless you have somewhere to get a really good discount on it, why aren't you getting 1GB of ram to start out with? MacConnection is selling the 1 GHz 15" PB with an extra 512 ram for free:

    I bought my PowerBook 800 a mere week and a half before the 1GHz models came out, and I couldn't do shit about it.

    My advice to you? If you're really worried about not having the top of the line machine when you buy, you should just pick up the $3299 17" machine when they start shipping. Sure, they cost a little more, but you can rest assured that money won't be wasted.

    I'm sure Quicken, Office X, Photoshop, etc. can be... acquired, to make the giant purchase a little more reasonable.

    If you purchase it from an Apple Reseller such as Smalldog or something like that, you get a 30 day return policy if I am not mistaken. Check it out...(and try to keep the Powerbook threads to a minimum, everytime I come in here, there seems to be a new Powerbook thread started by O-Mac. No big deal really, I'm tired and grouchy so I apologize in advance if I seem mean, but I'm really not, and I'm rambling...I'm going to bed now )

    And by 'acquired' Steve means purchased at discounted prices by scouring the web for good deals, such as checking at <a href="http://dealmac.com/"; target="_blank">http://dealmac.com/</a>;
