HELP Mac users pretty please

hey Everyone!!!

I'm a Graphic Design Student from Cape Town South Africa.

We have a project this week in which we have to work from a major brand.

My group has gotten apple but the market here is increadibly limited!

We're seriously struggeling to get a low down on what type of people mac users really are.

could you please just give me some general charactor traits about youself.

likes, dislikes, hobbies, past times, tv programmes, age, gender, music preference, occupation and what exactly is it about mac that makes you prefer it?

    mac users as a whole are pretty broad...just take a look at some of the threads in AO ... although noone here will dissagree that mac users generally apreciate nicer things more then regular computer users and generally we are smarter and have higher incomes



    with the exception of course being Matsu <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

    I don't think professors take too kindly to referencing message boards in your bibliography

    Neilson reported that I think a little over 70% of mac users have an extended college education, and also a large majority of them make well in to 6 figures. Though in comparison with 'PC' users it may seem 'wow mac people are smart ( and they really are )' you have to account for the broad base of uses on the rest of the world. You're best bet is too go to <a href="http://www.macworld.com."; target="_blank">www.macworld.com.</a> Most mac people are in publishing, graphic design, highly adept and interested in the web. Overall I'd just say think of the consumers that drive mercedes, and really that same 'class' of people buy macs. But by no means does that mean poorer people don't own one either, I own one heh. Its just disposable income warrants more computer per buck.

    likes: music (jazz to rap...) love accoustic...classically - no country.



    dislikes: country, people who say they aren't creative



    hobbies: outdoors-hiking, ocean...sand in the toes...reading - 6 feet under



    past times: drug free adventures.



    tv programmes: sopranos 6 feet under.



    age, gender, 29 F



    occupation: GD, WD, artist, teacher, creator



    and what exactly is it about mac that makes you prefer it?



    Oh...where to begin. BEAUTY. no windows. pcs are an ugly step child to the mac.

    Mac users also tend to be (but not all) quite loyal to Apple, never switching from PC to PC, I geuss that's because you can only get OS X on a mac oh and apart from the fact that they look sweet. <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

    I actually thought a majority of mac users were quite liberal wrt drugs, even if only to justify the dopehead that leads their beloved company. Even their industrial design department references drug culture. Flower-Power iMac anyone? They're just about so far of launching an iMac with a built-in BONG. I personally, though having steered clear the past year or so, have never minded combining my mac with some of nature's more happifying fruits.

    If you can get your hands on a copy of Scott Kelby's book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0735712840/qid=1047530872/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/002-9080756-1689659?v=glance&s=books&n=507846"; target="_blank">Macintosh, the Naked Truth</a>, that would probably do you some good. It's an excellent book about mac users by a mac user, and it refuses to take itself too seriously. A great read, if you're a Mac user, and an interesting look into the sub-culture, if you're not.

    Macs have had built-in BONGs for years, in the form of a startup chime.
