well i always said that apple made strong compueters and they just dont break like a pc but dang i was in for a surprise last week. i was on a trip to go to south padre island for spring break and we were packing the small van tight. it was so tight that the two compuetr montiors and the 20" tv had to sit in the laps of the owners for a 8 hour trip. well the computer was stacked vertically in the"trunk" and only held up by the door when it was closed. when we stopped at walmart for suplies some one was about to open the dorr but i reached back and held on to the computer. when he left my girlfriend thought she would keep my mind off of the awkwardness of a 19" montior in my lap with somehting else in my lap. and right at that moment somebody cam back and opend the door. in slow motion i turned and saw my beautifull dual 867 drop from 5 feet to the ground bouncing off the bumper on the way down. all i heard was thunk! crunch! Scrrrrrrrrd!!! as it hit the concrete of the parking lot and slid. not even wanting to think about how much money i paid of rit and didnt have now i just turned back and kept kissing my girlfriend.. but when we got to padre, it was miracle. the darned thing wortked. and heres even better. the case didnt have a scratch, the nasty lines werte jst dirt from the bumper. the only problem is now my fans are super loud in osx and quiet in os9 im not sure how that works but it happened

Wow some people are just sad.

Why the hell are you bringing computers with you when you're going away from Spring Break?

Is Spring break some form of American tradition? From sites I've 'inadvertently stumbled' across on the internet, it seems to involve bikini clad girls removing their, well, bikinis. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

Spring Break is a week off of classes that University students get around mid-March. Usually, the students do their best to travel to the absolute warmest and most tropical place so that they can get drunk, take all their clothes off, and kiss everybody possible...

...or that's what MTV and "Girls Gone Wild" would like for you to believe.

Many students just go home to their parents for the week, or go on a service trip somewhere with a student organization. The service trips could include building a house for Habitat for Humanity, feeding the hungry, or any number of noble things.

wll I'm back in the dor romm now. NO action at all. my spring break was like a long week in jail. The host neglected to infrom the rest of us that he had no car at home. And to make it worse his parent workd all the time and needed the car.

If any of you have seen that show with the mole then you know what i'm talking about. He is the mole. It seamed like everything was sabatauged. For instance, Teusday 50 Cent is in concert at sliterbahn and it only cost 35$ to get in. when we are almost on the island we stoped at an atm to get cash. Now when we went in we were going to the concert, when we came back we were informed by our host that we would just go to the beach cuz his father needed to go to work. Well thats fine we say just have your mother come pick us up. He says he has epilepsy and that if he has a seizure he doesnt trust us with his life. But for some reason its ok to go to the mall for a few hours and then watch two movies by himself.

What makes it even worse is that when we get to the beach he doesnt want to keep driving down. he says lets just go here and people will come. now its like right around noon and you guys know thats just when a college student is waking up or finishing a dream. So against what I say he still says he knows what he's talking about even though the family just moved there two months agao and he's been at school. But it turns out we go to a dead beach for I don't know how long and the clothes optional party beach was a 5 repeat 5 minute drive down the road.

The rest of the week got worse. We stayed in the house wednesday, thurseday, and friday. Sat his mom said she could take us to the mall for 2 and a half hours and the other guy said he didnt want to go he would just stay asleep. Our host had the nerve to say that "the purpose of this trip is to have fun. You can't just sleep on the couch while we go to the mall." We all wanted to smack him.

As is if it could not be worse they had no tv, no books, nothing in the friggin house for entertainment. the only thing was my friggin computer that HE was on, on his mother f***ing brother was on. i didnt even use the b1tch. When i did, and left to go the bathroom, they would log out or quit what i was doing. i tried to be so nice. I really want to scream but i'll vent here.

Yeah, I'm doing a service trip, to, er... Hawaii! It's going to be fscking sweet and fscking deserved. I'm so god damn tired of work and school I'm going to love this break, however rest assured my iBook will be with me. Importing the millions of pics I'm sure to take, providing entertainment on the plane with a few well chosen flicks, and will most likely be tested out in some of the late night coffee shops around the area just to keep in touch with humanity ie. friends, email. Lucky me this trip is being bankrolled by my girlfriends mother, saving me a pretty penny. My expenses have been heavily subsidised. My iBook's taken a few jolts, and I'm never worried about it. Though that might be the AppleCare talking.
