[quote] Oh and JD - just from cruising this forum for a few hours I already discoverd YOU are the biggest loser here - Anyone else agree?

See above post for why you are such a loser.

And please note that I play the role of a royale jester here on purpose. Playing a fool and actually being a fool are two different things.

Maybe that's because you have no sense of humor.

I don't know if the new G5's are coming out in January; however, I'm putting aside a couple of grand just in case. My Power Mac 7500 is getting long in the tooth, even though it's running a G3 at 500MHz with 1/2 a gig of ram.

It play's Unreal Tournament well but its bus speed is too slow and I can't upgrade it beyond a PCI 3dfx Voodoo 5 or ATI Radeon. I hope "uncle Steve" pulls a rabbit out of his hat at SanFrancisco!!!

Don't know what all thse hassle is with those Rev A phobia. The only RevA that really ever sucked was teh B&W G3 Rev A, which had serious data corruption issues if using a slave IDE drive (rendering the drive useless without extra PCI controller card).

The Beige G3 RevA (taht I have) had only RAge 2+ graphics and no master/slave mode, while the rev B and C had Rage Pro and master/slave.

But then again you could get RevC and B Roms to upgrade and get master/slave (taht what I did) and the difference between Rage2+ and RagePro is not important these days anymore, as both chips simply can't cut it anymore. So you have to get a PCI graphics card anyway.

The RevA phobia is nothing more than an overexaggerated overreaction to the frustration of a few who bought a B&W and actually wanted to install their old drive along with the new one...
