Seriously, though, I just did a user search on Eskimo and robo, and here's what I found:
Eskimo has had 25 public posts since AI started up again. His last was 2/15/02. He has over 140 posts total.

I have a lot of things keeping me quite busy in real life. But I do make an effort to visit the forums every day and I read over a great number of threads. Just because I do not post every thought that crosses my mind like a few members on the boards doesn't mean I or the other mods are not around. 25 public posts? Not sure I'm familiar with that statistic.
I didn't have a ton of posts before the blackout and I don't think it really matters how many I have now. Nice to know you are thinking of me though
Edit: I seem to have 25 posts in Future Hardware, maybe that is where you are getting that number?

Well, hmm. I thought the user search showed ALL of the posts for a particular user, but it may be that it was only for the forum it was sitting on above. So forgive me on that.
My point was simply to say that if one is going to be a mod around here, that he/she would be *somewhat* visible. I just haven't seen that from you or robo much lately. That's all.
(DISCLAIMER: Administrators, although they need to be visible, too, don't totally fall into this, because like Jonathan has pointed out, they aren't involved in the day-to-day moderation of the boards. This is why I haven't brought up any of them.)
I understand that you're busy. We all can be. But to have the status of Moderator just seems like you'd necessarily have to be around here a good deal, and BE somewhat visible to everyone. This is no personal attack on any of the mods or administration here, just an observation including my thoughts.
If I need to be set straight in my thinking because I have the facts wrong, please help me out.
Actually, I was thinking about that prospect when they recently had that opening, but I decided it wouldn't be the thing for me.
I don't really feel like I know everyone around here well enough, or read enough of everything to do a good job at being a mod. I'll just stay a member, thanks.
Hey guys. I'm sorry I haven't been around that much in the last month. I'm in the middle of grad school auditions, which has taken a lot of time away from my usual time wasting activities, such as AI
(incidentally, my last audition was yesterday at Rice University in Houston, and they have Macs EVERYWHERE! The offices of the Music school are filled with new G4s, and there are iMacs all over the place as internet access terminals (too bad they're all running IE 4.01 and Navigator 4.0 )
I lurk, but generally don't poke my nose in unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm always accessible via the admins or through email though, if I need to be.

robo has had only 14 (yes, 14) public posts since the blackout. His last was 1/6/02. He has almost 100 posts total.
Honestly, what's the deal, guys? If we're going to have mods around here, shouldn't they be more publicly active?
