The first thing is an outline of my oral exam in classic and modern social theory and the next (the numbers) is my IP hidden in between some other numbers. This way I could download the outline through FTP at the uni before the exam or at least get the outline as seen here.

BTW I did very poorly but nontheless achieved to get a mark above average. I knew my Luhmann but somehow I managed to screw up the Habermas, Bourdieu and Elias part of the exam (probably because I trusted my knowledge in them too much to prepare for it properly).

Ah i see cheating, i remember something when i pass the final exam of the first year of medical studie, i try to cheat in chemestry and i grave some formula in very small fonts on a stencil, at a normal distance it was nearly impossible to see something.

During the exam, the light condition was too poor for me to read what was ingrave at a normal distance , however i did not need that , because after passing one hour to engrave, i new the formula by heart.

This was the last time where i try to cheat.

However, your results would be better if you pass less time on AI

Or perhaps it's the best place to study sociology ?

Do you prepare a memory on this subject ?

Ah PB. The powers that be are now giving exams on him? Wow. I'd love to hear what the "exam" about Bourdieu is like...I mean, the very idea is full of irony.

Seriously, Bourdieu critiqued social structures and in particular the transmission of class via education. I'm somewhat entertained that his "critiques" is now a part of that mechanism for cultural transmission.*

    *a simple but humorous reading...

I think it is rediculous that we need to memorize formulas for anything... in the real world, can't we just look up a formula if we need it? I mean facts I can understand, but why formulas? you still need to know how to USE the formula and that is what they should be testing you on, not the actual formula...

Also, I don't think Anders was cheating... it was an oral exam--how do you cheat on an oral exam? Enlighten me...

i agree for the first part

for the second part i don't know if Anders was cheating, i guess so because he said that the IP where hide between others numbers, what is the interest to hide IP if you dont want to cheat ?

In many oral exams, they let you study the subject in advance (for me it was 30 minutes) in order to let you prepare your answers. BTW no documents where allowed.

But there is also different exams where documents are allowed. The rules change from an exam to another.

Yes an exam on Bourdieu is a funny thing (He is rather big here so this is probably the third exam I have used him in). It always reminds me of "1984" when the inner party member tells Winston Smith how the party is fooling the people while still deep inside believing in the party himself. But of course we always find comfort in him when things aren´t going our way. Its just us working class kids who don´t know the code of the academic world

Actually Luhmann isn´t much better. His view on communication say that it isn´t the result of persons will but something that have its own existence. And communication doesn´t transfer information from one person to another but we are closed psychical systems with other closed systems of communication between us. That makes situations like exams rather difficult to predict and control . And according to him I can never know if what I said was understood in the examination. But then again perhaps they understood it as if I knew what I was talking about Sometimes failed communication can be to your advantage.

Powerdoc: No cheating  I started with a eight minute presentation and we are allowed to have all the notes we want with us. I simply used them to stay on track.

Powerdoc: I hid my IP address (which I used to gain FTP access to my home computer from Uni) in the long number so it can´t be used by others to attack my computer. Its only used to transfer the outline directly from my home computer (to preserve the formatting from Word) instead of using the one I posted here.
