iPhone X shipment times improve to 1-2 weeks ahead of holidays

Just in time for the lucrative holiday shopping season, Apple on Wednesday updated iPhone X ship-by times to one to two weeks, a one-week improvement over previous delivery estimates offered earlier this month.

All iPhone X models sold through Apple's U.S. website are now showing delivery times pegged at one to two weeks, meaning orders placed today will arrive on doorsteps in time for the gift giving season.

The stock improvement arrives one week to the day after Apple last updated shipping estimates for its hot handset, brining expected delivery dates under a month for the first time since the device went up for preorder in October. After selling out of iPhone X inventory just minutes after taking preorders live, Apple saw overwhelming demand push back device shipments to as much as 5 to 6 weeks.

Today's newly revised ship-by estimates suggest the company has addressed production bottlenecks industry insiders expected would continue until at least the first half of 2018.

Specifically, suppliers were reportedly having issues manufacturing the so-called "Romeo" element of the iPhone X TrueDepth camera, a state-of-the-art depth-sensing apparatus Apple is using as a replacement for Touch ID. "Romeo," comprised of TrueDepth's dot projector and flood illuminator, pairs with the "Juliet" receiving module made up of components like infrared and full-color HD cameras.

Reports in October claimed Apple was also seeing issues with antenna and camera FPCBs, component shortages that led analyst Ming-Chi Kuo to estimate the company would have only two to three million iPhone X units available at launch.

In-store supply is still severely constrained, however, as spot checks in New York, San Francisco and other major metropolitan areas show all iPhone X variants out of stock.

I don't think suppliers told anybody what they were shipping, or how much they were expected to ship.  Neither do I believe that there are industry insiders.  What there are, are click bait rumor mongers (aka Ming-Chi Kuo) that come up with the same old "constraints" meme every year, and every year they are proven false.

We will never see the end of these falsehoods as bloggers need content, so they will continue to print shit no matter how ridiculously the rumor mongers are proven idiots,

So where are the analysts who said the iPhone X had major supply constraints. I’m looking at you Ming-Chi Kuo.

You can get as good as a carrier free version. I bought an unlocked CDMA phone with a Verizon SIM last Saturday. It's working fine with my Cricket SIM now. Apple is no longer requiring that you provide your Verizon, AT&T or Sprint credentials to get a phone.

Wow!  Great news.  So, when ordering the Verizon version, does the Verizon SIM card comes installed from Apple?

I've got the same model and let me tell you, you're gonna love it!

It's easily my favourite iPhone, and I've used them all.

Just 2 days after I started using it, whenever I picked up my wife's iPhone 7, I'd inadvertently swipe up from the bottom to get to the home screen! The learning curve is very small and the screen is just gorgeous!

yeah the troll community that is MR is having a field day, claiming a 1-2 week backlog is proof that the device isn’t doing well. a 1-2 week backlog nearly a month after release! these fools don’t even listen to what they’re saying... meanwhile, no problem getting the various knockoff du jours

The thing about human brings is they generally hate having to make changes to their behavoir. This face id is a case in point. There are still old fossils who still cant get used to a mouse. Or the people who used to say a physical keyboard on a phone was a non starter. There will always be those who resist change and you know what “evolve or die”. Generally there are these who embrace the new “use case” and those that get dragged kicking and screaming into it. The question becomes which are you dear reader?
