I'd like to suggest that signatures be limited to three lines. Some people are putting bloody stories in there! And do we really need to know every spec of every Mac they own every time they post?

Yours gratefully,

Jamie

    Here here.

I agree let's set a limit on signature length. Extraordinarily long sigs break up the flow of the thread. Who wants to read a thread where over half the post content is actually just signature piffle?

We can't put an actual requirement, but if you point out offenders, i'll be more than happy to fix them.

if there was a way t automatically take off the sig if its already been posted once on a page that would be coo... i always forget to do it, and i cant seem to find the pref to make the default having the sig off... how do you do that?

Is there a way to put an option in a member's profile for what computer he/she uses? That would free that up in the signature, at least.

Ok, there's a prime example in <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=001411"; target="_blank">this thread. The poster's name is gorgonzola.

That's a good idea. I never wanna have my sig posted for a second time but I always forget to uncheck the option of having the sig.

There's now a field in your profiles for your system specs.

    The misfits.

    The rebels.

    The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

    TheyÂ?re not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you canÂ?t do is ignore them.

    Because they change things.

    They invent. They imagine.Â*Â*Â*Â*They heal.

    They explore.Â*Â*Â*Â*They create.Â*Â*Â*Â*They inspire.

They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?

Or sit in silence and hear a song thatÂ?s never been written?

Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.

While some see them as the crazy ones,

    we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think

they can change the world, are the ones who do.

    That's what she said, EmAn.

Seriously, though, what do you need to put in there? iBook 500 - blah - blah -blah should fit just fine.

You are quite accustomed to short sentences... ya know...

Oh, and Starfleet, look at Mr. Dan Long Signature Man's signature now
