    I guess the cynical among us may think that, but this makes a ton of sense for me.  I'm already out of warranty since i replaced my own battery and screen about 2 years ago.  the closest Apple store is a 45 minute drive and then even with an appointment I always wait at least 30 minutes to see someone.  tack an hour on that to wait for it to be repaired and I'm in for a half day in order to get a new battery.  There is an office max less than 5 minutes away, maybe it's an office depot...not sure but one of them is there.  If I could go drop it off and then wait at home for it to be ready, then that's awesome. 

    More like they are taking advantage of free advertising for this subject, because I didn't know those stores offered this service.

    I dropped off the phone at Office Depot and they called me when it was ready.  I did not have to wait in the store or nearby in a mall.   Pretty painless...
