Read-only access to Moderator forum...

... is what I want.

I'm really curious as to what orgiastic stuff is going on in that forum. Clear too, always will be a lure to a forbidden piece of fruit.

What do you think? Strictly moderator in the sense that mere mortals cannot post. Or maybe some halfway privileges for some members (those with triple digit post count, like myself, thank you very much).

    Come on, I'm authentically curious.

I think the threads in Fireside Chat lately have shown that there is hardly any distinction between member and mod. (both can be as insulting, or as correcting).

And another thing: it's not really fair to many members who spend a lot of time at AI, and are truly responsible, as well, in making the site what it is.

i think you're entirely confused about what goes on in the moderator forum.

it's private because it's site business, stuff like that.

ANY forum site has a mod forum, and it's private.

There's no reason for you to be able to read our threads, comparing IP numbers, talking about who's posting under what name, and what directions we're working on for the site...

IF anything, we'd allow a select group of very senior members access... meaning people who have been around FOREVER (pre-blackout, etc) and who help us out frequently.

    In short, no ****ing way.

hey, i'm pre-blackout....ah damn, but i don't fit the "help us out frequently" part at all....dang dang dang....

basically all i would like to know is who's posting under what names...mostly to try and support a theory that only 3 or 4 people really are posting at AI, but under like 98 names each.... g

(you ever try chatting with Brad? it's like talking to freakin' Sybil...i think he bangs his head against the computer to quickly change personalities....bang...brad....bang....starfleetX ....bang....(insert freaky personna here)...bang....etc etc...... )

kidding, much love to our seriously split mods...g

    Exactly.

We have to act out all of our insanities in a safe, padded room so that we can appear (relatively) sane on the boards.

Seriously, though, the Moderators forum has to be private. We have to feel free to post information that would be imprudent to post in public, like IP numbers.

Some of you would probably cry or bitch/moan/complain if you read what all we say about you in the Mod forum.

Seriously though, aside from the privacy issues and the fact that personal information that Amorph mentioned, the moderators and administrators also need a private area to discuss how certain users or hot topics will be handled. These are matters that usually do NOT warrant the input of the general public.

hmm, i seem to agree with that last comment

i think it is best if no-one bar the mods see in there, u never know they could be voting to kick someone off the site! not very nice if it would be you me thinks

If you keep an eye on the "Last post" listed by the mods forum on the front page, you'll notice it's not terribly active. It really only gets used when there are things going on in the forums that everyone gets to see anyway.

Most of the other posts are Jonathan going on and on about his latent homosexuality and whether he should come out to the rest of the foru... Oops.

We could perhaps post a Top Three Members We're Discussing This Week list somewhere, but it would only serve to boost the egos of those whose egos are probably much too big as it is.

oh, but Belle, darling, you know it's my poor experiences with you that have led me to be tempted by that sexy Jamie.

    That's so unfair.

You know how hard I tried to grow a mustache, and develop back hair - anything to keep you happy - and yet it wasn't enough, was it?

And there was no way you could resist that downy fluff on Jamie's ass.

    I didn't stand a chance.

It's exactly conversations like these that happen all of the time that should convince people that they don't want to know what's going on in there. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

Thanks. I feel I'm pushing new boundaries in equality for women. I've had a lot of positive feedback, though I think the fact I went for a "Hitler" has upset many people who remember the war.

I won't hear another word from of you, young man!

You know the trouble and expense we went to import those hairless lemurs required to meet your constant demands.

And those Madagascan customs officials asked some pretty searching questions. Poor Jamie. Though, come to think of it, he always has a smile on his face when he recalls his time in Madagascar...

Brad: my god boy, where do you find these things?? and shouldn't you be at work slaving away?? g

Belle: yes that bastard hitler really ruined it for the rest of us that want a little "gay" half mustache...we are only left with copying John Waters and his ultra thin style of mustache that barely lines the upper lip...and i can't have one like that because my mother already has one and i would look like i am copying her....sigh, my mother ruins everything for me....g
