    To restore the auto book, you use AutoBoot=%03. Anybody know what %02 does? > [Removing the startup chime] so if the power is low, it safely shuts down and when it has enough power to boot it does. Doesn’t it already do this - or a deep sleep? I’ve had my MBP (early 2015) run out of battery a couple of times (cycle count 1063!). When I open it up, it doesn’t wake up immediately, and if I press the power button, it comes up with it’s “plug it in please” graphic. I plug it in, wait about 5 minutes, and then it starts up normally. > Smiley face, I'm afraid, is long gone. Cheers. What about changing the boot image from the B/W apple logo? Though if you mean the smily-face icon changing from just the “mac” part to adding the “smiley” to it? I forget whether it did that back from my Mac-512 days..

    The startup chime command doesn't actually work on the Late 2016 mbp.

    Does anyone know the correct command to restore the chime?

    Don't think I could "restore" the boot chime on my 2017 iMac.  :'(

    It used to work. At some point along the way, Apple removed the ability to bring it back.
