Jason Momoa, best known for his work on "Game of Thrones," has landed the lead role in Apple's upcoming original series "See," according to a report on Tuesday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Momoa will play the role of Baba Voss, a "fearless warrior, leader and guardian" in Apple's sci-fi saga.

Not much is known about "See," but previous reports have described the forthcoming original series as an "epic, world-building drama" set in the future. The series is expected to run eight episodes.

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Steven Knight ("Peaky Blinders") penned the script and will serve as executive producer, while Francis Lawrence ("The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2") will direct. "See" was spawned by Peter Chernin's Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content and purchased by Apple.

Momoa, who played Dothraki tribe leader Khal Drogo in HBO's "Game of Thrones," is a veteran of both television and the big screen. Notably, the actor assumed the role of Aquaman in DC Extended Universe, a character that debuted in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Momoa reprised the role in last year's "Justice League" and will star in a solo "Aquaman" film slated to hit theaters in December.

"See" is one of about two dozen original shows Apple has in the pipeline as part of its Worldwide Video effort. Led by former Sony Pictures Television executives Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, the division is collecting a stockpile of properties that could see release as part of a new subscription bundle encompassing Apple Music, News and original video content.

I like the guy, but he really should be playing Conan in a series based on the Robert E. Howard books. He looks exactly like Frank Frazetta’s paintings of Conan.

And yes, I know he already played Conan in a terribly written and directed movie.

I would also say he's better known for Stargate Atlantis.

Not even close. Stargate Atlantis was a good show but it didn't have anywhere near the viewership of GoT.

He was good in Braven, but not so much in Frontier.

Well, with an executive from Time Warner’s new overlords AT&T wanting to turn HBO into another Netflix it seems. Apple could end up being the place to go for consistant high quality TV content going forward. Just without HBOs raunchiness, cussing and gore. Which come to think of it, isn’t such a great thing after all! AT&T don’t ruin HBO!
