Can I use a BlackMagic (or other) EGPU with the iMac in target display mode?

The 2012 isn't a DisplayPort connection in Target Mode, it's Thunderbolt. So, the only one that might work is the Blackmagic with TB2 to TB3 adapter, and even so, I'm skeptical about it.
