Apple has progressed onto the second beta release of one of its operating systems, with a new build of macOS Mojave now available for testing by developer program participants.

The new second macOS Mojave 10.14.2 beta has build number 18C38b, replacing the first's 18C31g build. The first build was made available but was temporarily pulled by Apple shortly after its release, though it was made available again on Thursday.

As with the other betas, there is little found to have changed in macOS 10.14.2, which again suggests it to be an improvement build.

Those taking part in Apple's developer beta program can get the new builds via an over-the-air update on any devices enrolled into the scheme, or can trigger downloads from the Apple Developer Center. Public beta variants usually arrive shortly after the developer versions, and can be acquired from the Apple Beta Software Program website.

AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly advise against installing prerelease software on mission-critical hardware, such as primary devices. Due to the potential for data loss, it is recommended to only install the beta operating systems on secondary or non-essential hardware, and for regular backups of important data to be performed.

Update: Apple has released a public version of the latest macOS 10.14.2 beta.

10.14.1 running like a champ on my late 2013 iMac 14,2. No noticeable glitches or bugs that I personally am dealing with. Of course your mileage may vary.
