.....“analyst paranoia about Apple no longer reporting unit sales” => if someone here thinks there is no higher truth than a CEO being so arrogant as to not comply to international reporting standards and conventions, he’d better completely redo his perspective. It is up to Tim to either feed or calm those uncertainty factors you mention. He’s mainly doing the first - as he has no higher truth than those who follow him, apparently. And raising prices for the sake of protecting sales volume is actually a very, very (=intrinsically) bad idea - especially combined with not disclosing unit sales numbers which is already backfiring on him. Time for a change.

Wait!!  So unit sales doesn’t matter any more, nor does ASP of said unit sales. So why does anyone care what Apple is selling their phones for!?  Why is the article negative!?

It should be - “APPLE’s having a sale, here’s your chance to get a discount getting into one of the greatest ecosystems in modern history!”

instead, Apple is doomed, prepare for the worse.

Will they give me more ££££ than last week when I trade in my phone? Probably not especially as I don't want an XR or XS but an iPhone 8.
Those new phones are just too big for me.
Isn’t the iPhone Xs smaller than an iPhone 8? Screen is bigger yes, but overall dimensions are smaller (I thought)

Great. Maybe assign one or two people to start working on that mythical new modular Mac Pro while you're at it, Timmy boy?
I would settle for an updated iMac with latest gen processors and Graphics.
“Timmy boy”  is too busy virtue signalling to approve the release though.

Only if you're going to boot Stay Nadella at Microsoft, Zuckerberg, Ki Nam Kim at Samsung, Sundar Pichai at Google too. None of them report unit sales.

As per Above Avalon, Apple has seen generally flat iPhone sales for the past few years but bc of the demand for grey market Apple devices their installed user base has grown by ~300 million users.

Apple is leveraging the grey market value of their older devices. Seems a smart thing to do to me.
