I think iPhone is more overdue for UI update than iPad. This sucks. They should update both of them as far as I’m concerned.

Dark mode? How about spending some time bringing IOS up to MacOS capabilities? My iPad will never be able to replace a MacOS device until then.
iOS isn’t going to replace macOS. They’ve said it time and again.
And they said 3.5 inches was the perfect screen size - Big screens are bad.

And they said you don't need a stylus.   And now you can use a pencil.

They have said that there is going to be common core functionality across all platforms that developers can create one app for iOS, macOS, tvOS.   Only time will tell if in the Future they feel they can deliver a great machine with mouse, pencil, and finger support.   If you haven't realized that they leave wiggle room in their pronouncements you aren't listening closely.    So only time will tell but even I think that would be at least 5 years away.

Hopefully they incorporate multi-user support into iPad and homePodOS pretty soon.   SIRI is what needs the most work of all Apple Products.

I hope Apple does include USB-C on its new budget iPads releasing this year. Lightning is really looking like obsolete technology now. Also as USB-C is a universal widely available standard now, I’d imagine it would actually be cheaper to incorporate into a cheaper iPad than the proprietary Lightning connector?
