Where is anyone able to get 8K content? Maybe in Japan?
You can’t get content in real 4K yet... maybe after it’s been upscaled from 2K, 1080p, or 720p. It’s stupid, I know.

What are you calling real 4K?

4K is 4096x2160 and is currently limited to cinema. The TV format is often called 4K but is technically UltraHD and is 3840x2160.

There’s a lot of streaming content in UHD; the biggest questions are how close are you going to sit to your TV and how big is it? This chart shows the tipping point..

Anything shot in 4K and doesn’t need upscaling during rendering or at the TV level.
