If the songs are removed from the distribution catalogue, then apple have to remove them, it’s that simple.
Lawmakers however should take pause for how china has been able to build up such censorship and oppression (i.e with technology sold to it by american companies). All while the law makers, who could actually bring sanctions against China’s behaviour, sit by hypocritically and expect multinational companies to carry the american values forward.
Easy for therm to be critical. They aren't the ones responsible to shareholders. They aren't the ones trying to keep Apple profitable in China. They don't have the facts or access to the information, and threats, they got from the Chinese Government. It's easy to grandstand when it isn't your @$$ on the line.
These is such a thing as having values. If Apple’s privacy stance started to affect Apple’s profitability would you say the company should moderate on that core value? Is it profits above all else?
Meanwhile the politicians continue to sell weapons to the Saudis and turn a blind eye to china’s militarization of the pacific islands.
but hey... Apple.
Pacific Islands? China isn’t militarising any Pacific Islands.
Woah are you out of touch. China has been building bases in the Spratley's. the Paracel's and elsewhere in the region. They've been building whole islands to host military bases. They've claimed the whole of the South China sea and are backing it up with their military. They are starting to issue warning to countries who sail ships through international water that they have claimed for their own. This has been going on for a few decades.

Did Bin Laden and Al Quaeda or ISIS have songs on Apple Music? Any invites to them? Wouldn't that be free speech and music?
Seriously, American extra-territorial is going way beyond what's acceptable. Sorry, the Capital Hill and Whitehouse aren't the government of the world, although the political establishment there seemed to feel so and have ingrained its population to that sense of entitlement.
Wake up America. Atrocities done by the US government around the world are at least partially exposed in the Manning and Snowden files, and all the US will do is to relentlessly pursue Assange as a political prisoner. Sorry, the world at large can now see the truth and sad those on Capital Hill and some in society are still ignorant and bigoted. For Apple, with people like these in charge and leading the country, who needs business competitors when there are compatriots trying to sabotage it.

That's pretty rich coming from the US government, especially given the kinds of people the POTUS keeps company with and also the kinds of people previous administrations have kept company with.
