1 GB DDR SODIMMS available.
Yep--you can now get 1gb dimms. Joyous day!
1 GB SODIMMS
They are DDR, so only the 12 and 17 inchers can use them, and no, I don't have all the specifics--read about it at xlr8yourmac.com.

Not that my 12" really seems to need more RAM...
However, maybe with Micron going down to .11u (is that correct?) they will potentially get higher density modules and at a lower price.
I'm just happy that it is here.

so how much are they in English. $?
Expensive, but they will be coming down over time.

1 euro is approxiamately 1 dollar, so that would make them in the neighborhood of $800 USD.

Hopefully.
One for the "pending" tray.

$845.
use the calculator which comes with jaguar...
God, I hope not
If I recall from previous discussions, OS X can address up to...4 GB of RAM? I know my TiBook is out of luck...but can I assume that you can simply replace any 512 MB stick in one of the new DDR equipped Macs with one of these 1 GB ones? Thats very cool if so . 2 GB in an iMac would be nice.
Escher

Well, not really one of these SODIMMS but rather a regular 1GB DIMM. Dealram doesn't list any 1GB DDR modules for the Mac, but there may be some compatible with the Mac anyway.

The only 1GB DDR modules I have seen are ECC type (will not be compatible with the Mac's unbuffered requirements).
And no, DDR modules have a different pin arrangement to just normal SDRAM and will not physically fit.

the calculator appplication has come with all of apples OSes since 1986!

Taking a glance at pricewatch, I saw quite a few non-ECC, unbuffered 1GB DDR DIMMS in both PC2700 and PC2100 on their first pages. Some of these may be Mac compatible.
Would be quite cool to deck out a PM with 4 GB RAM just to see what it could do.
Yes, but the one from Jaguar does currency conversions, which was the point of the poster.

I thought DDR-Ram could be put in an SDram slot, but just be utilized as SD-ram, but i'm not sure... Is that False?
Yeah, if you install the RAM with a hammer, it's possible. You then have a hard time getting it utilized as RAM, let alone DDR RAM...
