Twitter founder Jack Dorsey gives talk to Apple staff

Jack Dorsey, co-founder of both Twitter and Square, spoke to selected Apple marketing staff in a private session at Apple Park.

In a closed session on Tuesday, Jack Dorsey addressed members of Apple's marketing department in Apple Park. While no details of his topic have been released, it's believed that his appearance was one of a series of such talks being held with several industry figures.

According to Bloomberg, the billionaire who co-founded both Twitter and wireless payment system Square, addressed selected members of Apple's marketing department.

Apple has recently promoted the Twitter app as returning to the Mac using Project Catalyst. And Dorsey's other firm, Square, has been supporting Apple Pay since late 2018.

Neither Apple nor Twitter have spoken about Dorsey or the other speakers involved in this series. However, the company has long run an Apple University which has featured both in-house and guest speakers as part of its internal education program.

    Perhaps he was there to try to prevent Twitter from getting banned from the App Store. If I created a new app that let anyone post anything they wanted anonymously regardless of how hateful, it would not even make it through app review.

    Perhaps he was there to try to prevent Twitter from getting banned from the App Store. 
    Perhaps he was there because Apple felt he had valuable advice to share with their marketing department, even a potential mentor to some of them, and invited him to speak. Looks like he graciously accepted.

    Exactly. He's many times more successful than us.

    Him killing Vine was dumb though.

    “Don’t do what I did.”

    ...listen to the tech podcasts and you’ll see how many people use Twitter despite its poor design and mismanagement, not because of it. They’ve made too many decisions detrimental to the users and platform to count.

    It's the right kind of hateful though. Apple only bans apps with the wrong kind of hateful. /s
