    Hmmmm they're confused. Dolby makes AC-3 AAC is from the MPEG Group.

    AAC is from Dolby and the technology was integrated into the MPEG4 standard.

    AAC was partially/mostly developed by Dolby Labs.

    Interesting. Thanks for that info fellas. I had no idea Dolby was involved in AAC. No wonder the names are similar.

    The funny thing is I learned about it from Apple.com when QuickTime 6 was first released.
