...is it me or is the premise of the upcoming movie The Core is like the stupidest one in a long-long time. If you are wondering why did I create a thread just to say this - I just got fedup with those dumbass commercials!!

Doesn't the law of probability dictate that the "Amageddon" flick has to occur at finite intervals of movieland time?

Speaking of neat movie commercials, the one for "Identity" made it look really, REALLY good to me!

it's fun to play "count the cliches" with just the trailer, imagine how pathetic the movie is.

As I was predicting, it sounds like The Core is one of those movies that draws a fine line between "suspension of disbelief" and "just plain ridiculous."

I'm sure it does suck royally, but Hillary Swank is in it! She's a babydoll-and-a-half.

I'll see it......(I'll see any sci-fi, no matter how cheesy it is ). This months Discover mag had a little bit about the science involved, and they say the movie did an decent job of working the 'reality' of science into the movie.

No matter what I do, I just can't make myself to find her attractive anymore. It's impossible for me.

I am pretty much an anti-movie buff. I don't see many. When Boys Don't Cry was on TV (last year or something, can't remember), I had no idea what the movie was about. Didn't know who was in it. My wife was watching, and I sat down for 20 minutes... pretty boring movie about some skinny guy and a girl, big deal.

I DIDN'T KNOW THE SKINNY GUY WAS FRICKIN' HILARY SWANK. I THOUGHT IT WAS SOME SKINNY BOY.

So yeah, she looks like a man to me now. I'll never shake it.

I used to be like that, but then I saw Mission to Mars (I was staying in Hollywood and felt it would be dumb not to see at least one movie while I was there, and seeing as Mann's Chinese Theater had My Best Friend's Wedding showing, M2M at the El Capitan was the next best option)...

Took several hours in a bar on Sunset Strip to recover from that experience, and I now exercise a degree of quality control...

I was really disappointed when I saw the preview, and saw that she was in this movie. I thought she had more sense. The bills must be starting to pile up at home for her.

Hah! I think I will only see that movie if I feel in need of a good laugh. When I saw the preview before "The Two Towers", I (along with 3/4 of the theatre occupants) burst out in laughter at the premise of this silly movie. "The core of the earth has stopped spinning!" I mean really, how geologically uninformed can you get? Yes, I am aware of convection, but that's not the same as "spinning", per se.

in roger ebert's 2 1/2 star review this morning he says this is the perfect video rental for when they are out of anaconda.

he also says that they discover a new metal in the film called, (get this) unobtanium.
