The article includes this link, but not so obviously. The Google blog piece more clearly explains what this is and why it vastly improves security.
You simply cannot use the words Google and security in the same sentence. it's anathema and it's a shame you don't understand that.

How am I to inteprete the fact that google has a relatively low security breach statistics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_data_breaches )
How good is Google's know-how in security sector?
How much can we benefit from their knowledge and tools?

I think they’re alluding to privacy contempt that’s core to Google’s business.  Why would you trust a thief with your keys?

    ... Or with your data....
In another confirmation of the lack of trust of Google both major Electronic Health Record vendors are forcing hospitals to cut ties with Google cloud services in favor of more secure AWS and Microsoft services.

Since a major revenue stream for EHR companies is selling your health information, to block the world leader in selling customer's data is a big deal.

Why do you insist on making things up? Very serious. You've become increasingly untrustworthy of late, making claims with no substantiation at all. Were you hoping no one read the article because that's not at all what Epic has supposedly told three customers. No mention of  "lack of trust" by Epic or "forcing hospitals to cut ties", or AWS and Microsoft cloud services being more secure either. That's three strikes. Out.

    According to the article:
"Epic’s reps (reportedly) told customers the company would instead focus its energies on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. They said the company decided to halt development with Google Cloud because it wasn’t seeing sufficient interest among its health system customers to warrant the investment."

And Google selling customer's private data? You've made that up so many times, been corrected, and not once offered a single shred of evidence they do so that by now it's obvious you have no respect for the other members of our forum who you treat as idiots unable to separate fact from fiction. Between China and Google, with a bit of Apple FUD for dessert, you've been on a real roll lately.

Geesh, what exactly is your purpose for posting? It certainly doesn't appear to be for honest informative contribution and this is just one more example. Heck my 16 year old grandson tells the truth more often.

FWIW, linked within that same article:
    https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-selects-google-as-strategic-partner-for-health-care-innovation-cloud-computing/

So now with the off-topic stuff dealt with maybe you can read and comment on the AI article you supposedly are avoiding reading, but posting in the thread anyway.

Sorry that I triggered you.   again.   with the truth about your favorite company.

The part you apparently missed was that they attributed both major Electronic Health Systems (Epic and Cerner) dumping Google cloud to Google getting busted for taking the personal, private, protected data of tens of thousands of Ascension Health patients without their knowledge or consent and loading it onto their servers for their own purposes -- none of which benefited the patient.   And Google not only took the data but mismanaged its privacy & security.  That was a move reminiscent of their Google cars driving around neighborhoods scooping up the WiFi data of unsuspecting people throughout the world.   The difference this time was that they didn't attribute it to a "rogue programmer".

Nobody wants their personal health care information exposed -- that's why HIPAA made it illegal.
Maybe you don't care, but most people don't want their health care system sharing their private information with the highest bidder.

And what privacy and security was mismanaged?
Geesh, stop with the FUD, and again with your ignorant claim (tho you you shouldn't be ignorant of it since you've been told better) that Google sells personal data. If i were true you'd have been able to dredge something up by now and many times as you've been challenged for even one.

That's a much kinder way of phrasing it than the word I used when my grandson claimed he didn't know who took the battery charger off my porch when it was he who gave it to a friend of his.

The part you apparently missed was that they attributed both major Electronic Health Systems (Epic and Cerner) dumping Google cloud ...

And Google not only took the data but mismanaged its privacy & security  ...  most people don't want their health care system sharing their private information with the highest bidder.
Who is "they"? You? Epic? Cerner? Heck you don't even know if it's true that Epic will no longer be developing for Google Cloud. It's an "according to rumor" article, not based on a first party announcement.

Just going with the facts.   Calling them FUD, deleting them or disparaging them does not change them.
What facts? Third time I've asked, third time you've been unable to offer any, so they obviously don't exist. Therefore.... FUD.
That's a much kinder way of phrasing it than the word I used when my grandson claimed he didn't know who took the battery charger off my porch when it was he who gave it to a friend of his.

Despite your protestations that there are no facts, the facts continue to roll out.
But this time, you'll be happy to hear that they are not about Google but about Microsoft and IBM.   The Wall Street Journal published an article implicating both of them in similar schemes -- and potential violations of HIPAA rules guarding patient privacy.

But, in this case, both companies have potentially legitimate, but shaky excuses:
Microsoft claims that the patient records it accessed were stripped of personally identifiable information except in doctor's notes where it wasn't possible to strip it out.   While that's kind of shaky (if you or I tried that we'd be prosecuted), it's far better than mass access to all private, protected patient information.

And, IBM claims that, while it has an agreement allowing it to access private, protected personally identifiable patient data, it has not done so.

Perhaps the key to the whole mess is a comment in the article stating that:
“The data belongs to whoever has it.”
So, certain healthcare systems feel that, since they own your patient health care data, they can sell it or barter it for tech services.    Meanwhile, HIPAA essentially says that private healthcare information cannot be shared except for specific medical need -- such as your doctor consulting with another on the healthcare team to benefit you.

But, while the most egregious violations by far still belong to Google, other tech giants are nipping at their heals trying to find a way into the $3.5 Trillion a year healthcare industry.
