Why doesn't Catalina allow me to choose the columns in Mail ?

My issue with Catalina is that the column layout in MAIL is now fixed, whereas in previous versions it was flexible.  You used to be able to choose which columns you wanted, how wide they were and what order they were in.

Now it's a case of the Apple developers THINK they know best - but they've got it WRONG.

I need to be able to see both 'TO' and 'FROM' in column mode because a folder will contain conversations with various people both sending and receiving messages.

How LOUD do I have to shout to get Apple to give us back the flexibility of the previous version??

    I'm guessing you're the one who started this topic at MacRumors.com as well, yes? The feature has been removed by Apple. They rarely bring back features they kill simply because people complain (look at how long it took for them to fix the keyboards on laptops, which was a real problem for everyone). In short, don't hold your breath.

    As a side note, I can't for the life of me figure out why Apple would choose this feature to remove... I mean, it's not like it changed the operation of the app, or even made the app look bad.
