I wondered if there was an easy way to change the number on  A NEW IPHONE TO  A NUMBER THAT WAS LOST

    Talk to your wireless carrier about it. They should be able to do it.

    What do you mean? You had a number, lost it when you changed phones and now want to revive it on your current phone?
