Plastic outdoor patio chairs

Has anyone noticed all the plastic outdoor patio chairs in Iraq? We see videos of Saddam and he is always sitting on these:







I just saw some footage of US and UK forces looking over a home of questionable Iraqi people and the home also had many of these chairs. Is this the latest fad in Iraq?



Anyone else notice this ?

    Ya know, those chairs leave much to be desired, but since they are so cheap and easy to move around and stuff...I like 'em

    Plastic chairs are all over Asia too. All the outdoor restaurants use them...If you go to Southeast Asia you'll often see throngs of people sitting on plastic chairs of all colors huddled around a TV outdoors...watching news, sports, cheesy Asian serials, etc.



    Plastic is tons cheaper than lumber or metal.
