All of these are notably underpowered in a tablet mode, ie, they aren't tablet replacements.

The initial run of 'review' units was a disaster. What reached users, wasn't. The Huawei folding phone was not delayed by 9 months and the reason had nothing to do with the hardware. It was more to do with having 5G carrier tuning delays but they took advantage of those months to enhance some elements, especially software. Very little actually changed with regards to hardware.
The design itself is a question of preference. There is no wrong or right. You fold in or you fold out. Huawei will probably use BOTH designs and let users choose.
As for being 'underpowered' in tablet mode, that isn't true. They have been praised for getting the experience right for users and from what I can tell, Samsung has too! The chipset inside the phone is the same as in their dedicated tablets.
