XML Metadata!?!

Heads up all ye who crave metadata!



Included in Apple's announcement today about FCP4, they include information about XML link: "a new, standards-based composition and metadata interchange format."

    Yeah they have some heavy hitters like Quantel supporting FCP4 with this. Should be interesting.

    Hate to bust your bubble like this, but this is metadata for the video data. Not metadata for the files.



    This isn't what we've been talking about with respect to a possible metadata-enriched database file system, sorry.



    This is just using XML to tag data with further info, like is already done throughout MacOS X.

    Specifically, .plist format and NSDictionary. Nothing new, really.
