A model of what could be the "iPhone 13 Pro Max" has been shown with a smaller notch than the iPhone 12, in another preview of what to expect from Apple during its fall iPhone refresh.

For the "iPhone 13," Apple is anticipated to shrink down the notch at the top of the display, accomplished by pushing the speaker hole to the edge of the front glass panel. In another model supposedly depicting the next generation of iPhone, the notch is again shown to be much smaller than what is used in the iPhone 12.

Sent from China, the model of what is billed by YouTube channel Unbox Therapy as "the closest, best-look yet at the next generation of iPhone." The device is described as a nonfunctional mockup or model, but it is believed to have the same look and feel to what would normally be a final product.

Among the changes found between the model of the "iPhone 13 Pro Max" and the existing iPhone 12 Pro Max, the main two relate to both the notch and the cameras on the back.

The notch is shown, like in other leaks, to have the speaker hole for the earpiece at the edge of the glass, pushed higher up the iPhone to allow the other components to move into the middle. With a smaller notch, there's also more room to either side of the notch, equating to more usable display space.

In terms of actual width measurements, the normal iPhone 12 Pro has a notch measured at 34.62 millimeters in width. The model handset seemingly has a notch that is 26.31 millimeters wide, cutting almost a centimeter off the width overall.

For the cameras on the back, the model's versions are seen to be slightly wider individually than the iPhone 12 Pro Max's cameras. While a measurement isn't taken to compare the camera bump surrounding each camera, it seems that the model is similar to the current-gen version, despite using wider camera modules.

While the model phone appears to be a highly realistic facsimile of a genuine iPhone, there is no guarantee that any of the physical dimensions will actually match the final product Apple will launch in the fall. It is at most a best-guess based on existing rumors and leaks, combined with the current flagship model specifications.
