splitting .avi files

Does anyobdy know how to split an .avi file? I've got a 3.8 gig one that I'd like to split into 50 meg segments.

    If it's compatible with Quicktime all you need to do is use Quicktime Pro to chop it into the segments you want and export it as seperate files.

    im sure there is a utility that will do this for you.... check version tracker in the "media" section for an editing or splitting application
