Following Apple's previous confirmation that its new FaceTime Center Stage feature would work with rival video conferencing apps, Zoom has now added support in its forthcoming iPadOS version.

"Utilizing Apple's new Center Stage feature in Zoom, someone with their video on is kept in frame as they move around in the space in front of their iPad," says Zoom in a new support document. "This creates a more dynamic and engaging video experience, and it eliminates the need to move your iPad to keep you in the center of the video."

The company claims that the feature is available now, but notes that it requires Zoom version 5.6.6 (423) for iOS, or higher, and a 5th-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, Zoom 5.6.6 appears to be only now rolling out worldwide, with the App Store in many regions showing the latest release as 5.6.4.

When 5.6.6 is fully available, Center Stage will not be a global setting that applies to all Zoom meetings. Rather, it has to be enabled during an active meeting.

Come on, Zoom. If I have a tablet and I enable the feature then remember that I enabled the feature.

This feature worked on launch day on the iPad 12.9 inch and I did not have to enable anything.
