It looks like you can see one corner of what would be a pretty good-sized screen.

The interface is totally different, as well. Next/prev buttons, a wheel, and an 'x' (close?) button rather than the iPod's "select" button.

Hmmmm.

It looks like a real pic to my non-Photoshop-wielding self, but of what?

I have no doubts its a real pic (not photoshop) but is it a real ipod. I don't think so.

this is what it looks like to me. a hoaxster had access to (machine shop, art school etc.) that white plastic mold. he made the mould and poured some latex like stuff in it. then he peeled the latext stuff out after hardening and placed in on top of the face of the shown ipod.

to me the telling part is the the way the latext rolls up the buttons. looks to "overlay' to me...

to "chiclet" keyboard to come from apple.
