Here is a thought - read the article next time. "Reportedly, a job verification service was unable to verify her resume because of the change. The verification was delayed by almost a week, and during that time, the company withdrew its job offer."
The company moved on to someone else because Apple took a week to verify the person's employment. How would you feel if you were a C-level employee and the company changed your title to 'associate' - which is basically the level of a retail employee? A company can only provide job title and dates of employment to verify employment. Apple changing people's job titles after they leave is a pretty lousy thing to do.

Tbh it sounds like the job verification service did a pretty lousy job. Given that this woman was all over the tech news it should have been easy as pie to verify that she worked at Apple with the job title she claimed. The ire is being misdirected, this crappy verification company cost her the job, not Apple.
