I don’t see why Apple would be interested in a foldable screen unless some new software demanded it. We already have the phone, the tablet, and the computer. The Fold series from Samsung satisfied a market that wanted an in-between or a gimmick, and I don’t see why Apple would want or need to capture those markets when sales are there for the phone, tablet and computer.
Apple dominates the tablet market. As a phone salesman I see that despite any aversion to the Apple phone, android users generally concede that the iPad is superior to anything on their platform and want to own one. So, I don’t see a market for a half-phone-half-tablet like the S Fold when I can’t find a sizable Android market that would go for Apple if and only if they had a folding option.
And as for the “foldable computer”, I can MAYBE see a multi-angled screen which could “flex”- for example, to accommodate a space where the device is set up in a corner, allowing you to “use” the whole corner without the screen wrapping around the wall. But that should absolutely not be a touch screen unless you want to run into the Fold and Flip’s groove problem. But in that case, you really should just avoid putting your huge display in a corner and move your setup to the center of a wall.
