    Thanks for the suggestions.

I will have to keep an eye on the dvd2one forum for the release of XMac version, from all the noise about the app even under VPC it sounds like X version will kick ass!

Now I'll have to ask the local rental store to stock more good live concert DVDs

why all these headaches about copying DVDs... How often do you guys actually watch a movie (once? maybe twice?)

Since I go with netflix I have always movies at home, there is no need to watch the same stuff several times...

Because maybe we're copying pornos and we watch them over and over.

You watched Star Wars more than once right? How about Back to the Future, Office Space or Super Troopers? Classics get better each time.

correct, plus movies i like other peopel to watch and it isn'tn always easy to keep the DVD's for a long time if u want to watch other things

AND, i'd rather have a GIANT DVD collection at my hands then to have to order a DVD i want to see again and wait a day or two

gladiator watched that more then once!

Plus you don't want to lend out your original DVD, you might want to make a backup if you're loaning it your friends who aren't careful with such things...

    So when's DVD2One X coming out?

Last I heard is this comming week! It was strait from the developers mouths too, excluding any catastrophic bugs. The forum was locked at clubcdfreaks because I guess after 7 pages the developer (ReneB) "got the point" Its going to be a lovely VPC free week!

You can try it before you buy it and it costs 39.99 euro which is roughly $39.99 dollars. I think I can spare $40 how about you?

no thats an issue, i just want to test out the compression rate before i spend $40.00

this they'll have a demo or would i have to grab it somewhere off the web (warez)

but programs like this i'd definatly buy its worth it!

Um, there is a trial download of the PC version currently on their webpage. I would suspect there would also be a demo version for the Mac OS X version.

Ast3r3x talking about pirating it won't encourage its development... I hope they at least have a fully functioning trial mode unlike stupid DiscomVOBulator.

40 Dollars/40 Euro - whatever, If it turns out to be all that we expect it to be (fast, easy to use, stable) It'll be the best few bucks that you ever spent.

Why pirate a $40 app that allows you to save heaps of $$s on DVD rental?

Like Erwin said, there are still some minor things to be done. We want this release to be a quality one instead of a rushed one!

Now THIS is my kind of developer!

come on now its 'ast3r3x' not 'Ast3r3x'

but perhaps you missed the point of my thread, its that i would love to purchase it, but I'd like to test it out first and see how well it does, i don't want to buy it, back up a dvd and have messed up video or refresh blocks like you sometimes get with streaming video
