G5 already exists!

Why does everyone speculate on the existance of the G5 when motorola already says it has created it and lists it as a product. The specs are at

They list all processors with the designation 85xx and above as G5's so this is a G5. I like that MIPS and the Rapid IO. Looks like fun stuff.

    mmtraper you are new here, these has been discussed before the 8450 is not the G5, it is an embedded processor.

    the 8450 is less powerfull than the 7455 at one ghz.



    Mot never give any specification of a chip that will go in a Apple machine, before Apple release it, the only thing that we know that the next G4 will be made upon SOI 0,15 micron process.



    BTW the fact that the 8450 use rapid I/O stuff is interesting : we can bet that the G5 will have this stuff too.
